My experience at Salon Vim

Hmmm… having read many many featured bloggers’ advertorial entries like… Beatrice, Jocelyn Kau, Audrey and BigFatPocket Meiting.. I decided to give this new posh salon a try! Anyway, it’s been awhile since I stepped into a salon. So as usual, I am ok with trying out new hair stylists. As long as they are good. I booked an appointment with the much raved about stylist, John.

BUT………… I forgot somethin verrrry important! They are featured bloggers, they are paid to write about it. I should have known it, but I admit I got carried away reading and seeing the pictures. They are good bloggers, they aren’t lying about their raves, but I guess for an advertorial entry to be attractive enough, the stylist will have done everythin personally, understanding every little detail and offering the best of the best treatment to the blogger.

Back to me? Not so lucky loh~ . To be honest, I booked my appointment at 12pm, but damn it… I overslept and woke up at 12! Arghh… so I called to postpone the appointment to 1pm but actually reached at 1.30pm in a rush.. Haha.. but I was still welcomed with warm water and magazines. Then, John tries to understand what I wanted.

I told him, I’m here for hair coloring, at the same time considering to do a rebonding. Well, my hair is thick and out of shape and kinda PONG already lor…. He says it’s possible to do both on the same day. Like all the other girls, I do not want flat and dead rebonded hair, but since their soft rebonding technique can offer me what I see on Beatrice, I shan’t hesitate! Hahaa.. coz she has proven straight yet natural rebonding is possible! She had those rollers on her hair, that she said was Salon Vim’s special technique in soft rebonding.

Yet I do not want to duplicate Beatrice’s hairstyle onto me, so I asked for a different colour.. and was thinking of brown? or sticking to my purple reddish tone.. hmmm.. or is there any other special colors? Haha, but nope, John gave me a feeling that he wasn’t listening already, he jumped straight into showing me the very dark base and very red highlights. Well, I’ve not a slightest problem with red lah.. I’m ok with it since he so highly recommended it, saying it’s the latest technology from London. I looked around, I think another girl was also doing red highlights. -_- I seriously hope he’s not cloning every girl into dark base with red highlights! Hahahaa..

OH ya, I also asked if I could have curled in ends, because I had a picture in mind, but John said it’s not possible, because my hair is longer. I told him, no, I’m not refering to Beatrice hairstyle, I still want my hair length, so that I can still do D.I.Y curls at home. He says sure no problem, not to worry, their rebonding is only the upper half of the head, it’s gonna be very natural.

Ok then, he introduced his assistant to me, which from there onwards, almost 90% of my hairdo was done by the assistant!!! John merely pops by occasionally, helping out a bit, asking me if I’m ok, if I’m hungry, they have biscuits to offer.. the rest of the time, I see he’s doing hair for his other customers. He also explained that he’s sorry to keep me waiting and that he was very busy that day.

Oh, this is the part I hated most about these big salons.. we pay for the Top Senior Stylist, but the service we get is actually their Junior assistants’ standard. Senior stylists are paid more to give haircuts, rest of the time, they only walk around, give pointers and orders? Their attention are only for their regular V.I.P customers? That’s very unfair~~ I would say. Can we have your full attention on our head, and not your apology for being busy?

There is no before and after picture~~~~~ because of the verrrry flat hair, 脸瞬间放大几倍! I’ve burnt deleted every picture taken. LOL~

Can I tie my hair up? Can I do D.I.Y curling? Can I chop off my hair?

Aiyah.. I just want to destroy the rebonded effect lah.. Haha

That’s about it, all my ranting after spending a BOMB, and going home with an unsatisfied yet freaking normal-looking hair and a painful butt! Hahaahaaaa…

To Arielle: Thank you for your french fries and lemon tea, else I would be starving all the way till 7pm!
